Hotel Lindrum, MGallery by Sofitel

Hotel Lindrum, MGallery by Sofitel, sits with its heritage brick façade nestled amongst a sea of modern high-rises on Melbourne’s bustling Flinders Street. I personally love a building with a little history and character like this one.

We enter the lobby and straight away see the infamous Lindrum billiards table, left over from when the building was Lindrum Billiard Centre. The staff tell us how guests can improve their billiards skills with a one-on-one lessons with world champion billiards player Robby Foldvari in this cosy setting.

Up in our suite, I perch myself by the gorgeous window arch and set up my paints to make use of the natural light streaming through. The room is spacious and modern whilst still having character and a distinctive tie to its history.

From The Lindrum, everything is at our doorstep. We make the most of our central location, wandering through laneways, boutiques and cafes, uncovering some of Melbourne’s hidden gems. The galleries over the road at Federation Square are a lovely art escape. We then head back to our room for coffee and afternoon tea, and say goodbye to Hotel Lindrum, on to our next stop in Adelaide.
